Fees and processes change. This is the record of when we verified the dataset and what moved. We re-check on an annual cadence and note state fee changes here as we find them.

1. June 16, 2026

   Initial 50-state + DC dataset published

   First full pass of certified death-certificate fees, ordering methods, and office links for all 50 states and DC, each read from the state's official vital-records source. Colorado's fee reflects the increase effective January 1, 2026.

2. January 1, 2026

   Colorado fee increase took effect

   Colorado's certified-copy fee rose to $25 for the first copy and $20 for each additional copy ordered at the same time, per the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Captured in the initial dataset above.
